Style.com chatted with the 27-year-old newcomer about her unique look and how Nicolas Ghesqui\u00e8re got her career rolling again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Unlike most models, who start in their preteens, Glauser began her career in her late 20s. [&#8230;] \u201cI was never really into it, but I had friends asking me, \u2018Don\u2019t you want to do this?\u2019 But I was already 27\u2014why would I even think about [starting a modeling career] at that age?\u201d Glauser\u2019s pal sent her digitals to an agency in Paris, who quickly swooped in and signed her. With her shaved head and androgynous looks, she was embraced by fashion\u2019s elite, including Jean Paul Gaultier, Rick Owens, and Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy, all of whose shows she walked her first year on the scene.<br \/>\nSuccess was instantaneous, but after a visa mishap, Glauser soon found herself unable to work. Modeling\u2019s revolving door moves quickly, and something as simple as a paperwork mistake can stop a career in its tracks. For Glauser, the experience was difficult but made this season\u2019s exclusive work with Louis Vuitton all the more meaningful. \u201cWhen I came to the agency and heard I had confirmed that, I felt such happiness that I cried,\u201d says Glauser. \u201cIt felt like confirmation that I was on the right path, that the hard times had been for something.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019ve always liked the brand\u2014it\u2019s a great brand, of course\u2014but I would have never thought that they\u2019d look at me for a second.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cWhen you\u2019re unique, it can be that much harder to break into things,\u201d says Glauser. \u201cBut I\u2019m happy to have come into this business in a place where I\u2019m able to communicate and collaborate.
