«I was 15 when I started out. I\u2019m from a really small town, and growing up, I was never all that comfortable in front of the camera. But one day, I agreed to pose for some pictures with a friend of mine who wanted to be a photographer, she sent them to an agency, and they called me in and told me I had the potential to be a model . . . I wound up opening the Prada show at 15 years old as a complete unknown. After that, I went to New York and met a casting director at Vogue, who introduced me to Anna Wintour. See, it was different back then\u2014you had to meet individual people in the industry one by one until you were recognized by the fashion world. You didn\u2019t have social media to share yourself with people in that way . . . Now, as a new model, you don\u2019t even have to have a good portfolio\u2014you just have to have a great Twitter and Instagram.
